VOA, April 26, 2011 - United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay on Tuesday welcomed the public release of a U.N.-appointed panel's report on war crimes allegedly committed during the last phase of the conflict in Sri Lanka, and supported the report’s call for further international investigation.

Meenakshi Ganguly, South Asia director for Human Rights Watch, says she hopes the U.N. report will legitimize her group's accusations, which Sri Lanka has dismissed in the past as part of a conspiracy.
